The individual 3D 3.2 metre high Meriton sky sign letters are fabricated aluminium surrounds with opal acrylic faces and illuminated with ASTech LED’s. The Meriton identifying corporate signage was installed on the east and west elevations of the 56th floor of the building.
On the north and south elevations singular M branding building signs were installed.
The eastern elevation Meriton sky sign required steel spigots anchored into the concrete pillar, with a layer of glass covering the pillar and the spigots. The individual letters then had to be fixed to the spigots and concrete support through the glass panel.
Caged scaffolding was bolted to the outside of level 56 and each individual letter was lifted by a sky crane into the caged platform. Our installers were then harnessed to lower the letters over the edge of the 56th floor, to position the building signs into place.
High winds were experienced at such a high level – 56 floors up – and on many days install was impossible as it was too windy and dangerous to lift the letters. The sky sign element alone of this project took 3 months to complete.
